Drama queens ruled at the 4th annual amfAR Inspiration Gala, where each dress was more dazzling than the next. Thank goodness: When you're among legends like Liza and Iman, you'd better come correct.
We'll take a look at some pale hues first: Even though I've had it up to here with beige/tan/skintoned dresses, this flowy column on model Hanneli Mustaparta is really quite pretty. Orange lip color? Divine. And that Loch Ness Monster pony is the perfect summer 'do.
Mia Moretti and Caitlin Moe — aka The Dolls — have a new single, "Summer of '93" and some really cool clutches. Dig the way their outfits compliment each other without being matchy.
This see-through thing has GOT to end soon. Meanwhile, a sheer fishy mermaid tail on Carly Rae Jepsen is not the worst thing that has ever happened, but it's not good, either.
Better version of see-through: The summery, modern dress on Dree Hemingway.
Holy crap Ireland Baldwin looks so much like her mother. Remember that one James Bond movie Kim Basinger was in that involved jazzercise and video games? Good times. Anyway, Ireland's gravity-defying gown is so sexy saloon owner, and her accessories — from the huge cuffs to Dean and Dan Caten of DSquared2 — work perfectly.
Wait wait wait wait. How can we be sick of sheer when model Lindsey Wixon makes it look so glorious? Downton/Gatsby/Hedy Lamarr realness. And the spectacular earrings? Egads. Bestill my heart.
Drama! Ms. Liza Minnelli sparkles. Noted NY dandy Patrick Mc Donald serves hat and face. Bow down to both.
The next three — all in in deeply saturated color — are the best. First: Iman makes elegance look easy. A scarlet gown that hugs just so, flatters her skin and shoulders, is befitting of the goddess that she is. (Be tee dubs, that's Kenneth Cole on the right.)
Looking hot in hot pink: Uma Thurman. Stunning.
Best dressed, even though she almost always wears the same thing (sheer, fitted, clingy): Jennifer Lopez. Shimmery blue figure-hugging stretch lace with a hint of skin, clean makeup and sleek hair. Beautiful.
