GOP Congressman: Fight Gayism With Reinforced Gender Stereotypes

Latest

Representative Phil Gingrey (R-GA), our resident OB/GYN Congressman and Todd Akin-sympathizer, is like the gift that keeps on giving us an active gag reflex. On the House floor last Monday, Gingrey successfully killed two progressive morals with one giant homophobic, sexist shit.

He spoke in defense of the Defense of Marriage Act (with minute marks if you want to follow):

(1:25) [let’s talk about ] the definition of fatherhood and how important the father is to a child, but maybe even more important than that, a mother and a father. We don’t always have the ideal situation, but that’s certainly no reason to throw up our hands and say let’s forget about faith and family and traditional values and what is the best circumstance for a child…
(3:02) I realize today that the “father knows best” traditional view that we all had back in the old ways of televisions, it’s different it’s changed and I do understand that. Of my three daughters and my one daughter-in-law, they all work, they all work…but they’re still there as moms…but they need a shared partner and that partner…is the father…
(3:55) You know, maybe part of the problem is we need to go back into the schools at a very early age, maybe at the grade school level, and have a class for the young girls and have a class for the young boys and say, you know, this is what’s important. This is what a father does that is maybe a little different, maybe a little bit better than the talents that a mom has in a certain area. And the same thing for the young girls, that, you know, this is what a mom does, and this is what is important from the standpoint of that union which we call marriage.”

You see, it’s not that he hates the gays, Gingrey just wants the best for the kids. And that means that they learn about traditional, stereotypical gender roles at an early so that they realize that a mom can never be like a dad, and vica verca. Then, they will never get gay married! A woman will come across the woman she loves and realize that she will probably fuck up their future kids by not being a father. Thanks grade school and Rep. Gingrey.

This comes from the guy who said that all pregnancy needs is sperm + egg + relaxation (and rape is stressful so that is why rape does not cause pregnancy).

Note: he is officially running for Senate in Georgia in 2014.
