LOL: Gabriel Gomez, the Republican candidate in the special election for senator of Massachusetts, called GOP Rep. Trent Franks a “moron” for moronically saying that most rapes don’t result in pregnancy.
Even better, Gomez doubled down on calling Franks a moron:
“I think that he’s a moron and he proves that stupid has no specific political affiliation,” Gomez told ABC News. “I have no idea what goes into the mind of a moron like that,” he added. “These kinds of comments only come from a moron and they shouldn’t be tolerated one bit.”
Hot damn! It's nice to hear a Republican talk some damn sense; this is exactly what the party needs.
Gomez said that he's personally anti-abortion — which, fine, whatever, he's a man and will never need one, and if he ever did, there would more pressing biological issues to discuss — but that he would not “change any laws” or make it more difficult for women to get abortions. He also said that he would vote down the Franks' sponsored Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would unconstitutionally ban abortions after 20 weeks. The bill passed the House Judiciary Committee today and will likely go to the floor for a full vote next week.
