Last night at Women In Film's 2013 Crystal + Lucy Awards at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, actresses celebrated the 40th anniversary of Women In Film. Forty-nine year old Laura Linney received the Crystal Award for excellence in film and said: "There certainly is a wider diversity of roles available to women, (and) careers don't instantly end at 29 anymore." On the red carpet, there were lots of vibrant colors and some terrific trousers.
Pants both wide and narrow: Debra Messing, Jenna Elfman.
Two iterations of the schoolgirl uniform: Sofia Coppola, Laura Linney.
Simply sweet dress and cute bag: Kiernan Shipka.
Fresh, springy green: Holly Robinson Peete, Rose McGowan. The latter's is especially enviable.
More emerald hues: Kate Flannery, Amy Brenneman.
Cool green eyeliner and pretty-as-a-picture dress: January Jones. Betty Draper would like that silhouette.
Rich persimmon ruffles for Jessica McNamee; juicy apricot on Holly Hunter.
Gosh that haircut is amazing. So is the lipcolor. And so is the seafoam shade of the strapless number on Elisabeth Moss.
Pretty perfect pantsuit: Jessica Paré.
It's hard to think of Hailee Steinfeld as the dingy fearless badass in True Grit when she dresses like red carpet royalty. This entire suedestravaganza is TO DIE for. Give me those shoes immediately.
But my favorite look? Stana Katic's crimson jumpsuit with asymmetrical neckline. Elegant, not fussy, comfortable, pretty. AND. Salivating over that golden headpiece. Helen of Troy much? I'm ready to sail into battle right now.
