First Jurassic World Trailer: Chris Pratt Is Hot, Dinosaurs Are Scary

“The park is open.” Finally, there’s an official trailer for Jurassic World, which takes place 22 years after Spielberg’s original Jurassic Park. It’s not like I was waiting on this, but I hear that people are excited. Confession: I’ve never seen Jurassic Park in full, though I gather that it’s a movie about dinosaurs?

Okay, a dinosaur theme park. I know enough. In this version, Chris Pratt plays park keeper Owen and there’s a first-of-its-kind “genetically modified hybrid” dinosaur that’s terrorizing the park. “We just went and made a new dinosaur? Probably not a good idea,” says Pratt in the trailer. The L.A. Times says:

We’re still more than half a year from seeing whether “Jurassic World” will follow in the T. rex-sized footprints of the first film or fare more like the second and third films, which received mixed reviews while still performing admirably at the box office. This installment comes with the added challenge of matching the anthropomorphic novelty of the original films in an era when lifelike creatures are a dime a dozen on the big screen.

Well, this trailer looks gorgeous and entertaining. And Pratt’s presence is worth me checking it out. The movie comes out June 25, 2015, which gives all of us plenty of time to catch up.
