E’Dena Hines' Boyfriend Has Been Charged With Her Murder

Latest

E’Dena Hines, step-granddaughter of Morgan Freeman, was found fatally stabbed on Sunday. Today, police have arrested her live-in boyfriend, Lamar Davenport, for her murder and transferred him to a hospital to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

According to Raw Story, eyewitnesses allege that Davenport attacked Hines while performing what could only be described as an exorcism. The witnesses state that Davenport screamed “get out, devils! I cast you out, devils!” as he assaulted Hines. The Daily Beast reports that Davenport was identified by his best friend, Ray Rosario, although he has no idea why Davenport would attack Hines, especially considering that he hadn’t noticed anything out of the ordinary when he’d had dinner with the couple the night before. Hines, he says, had been more happy than he’d ever seen her and Davenport was just as “ecstatic.”

“I’m still trying to come to grips with what happened,” Rosario told The Daily Beast. “I’m caught between the hate I have for him, my love for him being my brother, and my heart breaking for her.”

Hines had only recently returned to New York in order to star in an independent sitcom. She was a graduate acting student and, according to friends and colleagues, an incredible talent.
