Concern Troll Mike Huckabee Thinks Jay Z 'Arguably' Pimps Out Beyoncé

Former Fox blowhard and GOP wingnut Mike Huckabee has some thoughts on the marriage of Jay Z and Beyonce and they are stupid. OK? They are as stupid and horribly racist as you could probably imagine.

Raw Story recently uncovered some word farts Huckabee put into a “memoir” that include his insight into what Jay Z and Beyoncé’s relationship is really all about. OH BOY.

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) apparently believes singer Beyonce’s career is controlled by her husband, rapper Jay-Z, according to an excerpt from his latest book posted by U.S. News & World Report on Thursday.

“Beyonce is incredibly talented – gifted, in fact. She has an exceptional set of pipes and can actually sing,” Huckabee writes. “She is a terrific dancer – without the explicit moves best left for the privacy of her bedroom. Jay-Z is a very shrewd businessman, but I wonder: Does it occur to him that he is arguably crossing the line from husband to pimp by exploiting his wife as a sex object?”

Jay Z is “arguably” a pimp because his wife is empowered enough to embrace her sexuality. OK. Because if she wasn’t married to Jay Z she’d have to followed her real career dreams and become a knitting instructor at Boise Community College. Sure.

It’s almost impossible to unpack all of the racist bullshit going on in this statement, but an old white dude labeling a black man supporting and promoting his wife’s work “pimping” is pretty low. Worse, to Huckabee Beyoncé’s success in the music industry is because she is a prostitute, because that is the only thing a black woman (or any woman I guess) can be if she dares do anything but parade around dressed like Donna Reed and singing show tunes. (But hey, he thinks she’s a “terrific dancer!”) Also throw in some old fashioned sex worker shaming and you’ve got yourself typical GOP bullshit.
