Certain Death Awaits You in the Future Hunger Games Theme Park

Latest

Lionsgate has announced plans to make that uncomfortable feeling you have of being in a perpetual dystopian state real by building a theme park based on Hunger Games. It’s like our very own Westworld predestined to destroy humanity.

As part of a large-scale theme park creation in South Korea, Lionsgate Entertainment is following through on its previously talked-about concept for a Lionsgate Movie World, to be comprised of seven “lands” with “zones” designed to milk the popularity on the studio’s prominent films, including Hunger Games and Twilight. E! Online reports that the 1.3 million square-foot park “will be part of Jeju Shinhwa World, a luxury resort on South Korea’s Jeju Island.” Excellent…

A press release states that visitors/tributes/victims will get to “experience actual movie scenes” in the park. (All they have to do is avoid being fatally bow-and-arrowed by a fellow park guest, good luck.) As with Disney or Universal or any other thematic adventure park attraction, there will be simulated rides, restaurants and performances.

Construction begins in 2018 and the park is set to open in 2019. Prepare provisions for a future long trip to South Korea to claim your Hunger Games victory.
