Bill Murray Has Some Suggestions for That All-Female Ghostbusters Movie

Last month, we asked you to brainstorm the perfect cast of an all-lady Ghostbusters movie that’s been swirling around the rumor mill. Well, original Ghostbuster Bill Murray (aka Bill deBlasé-o aka PLEASE BE MY GRANDFATHER), who has declined to return to the franchise himself, thinks women taking over is one capital idea. And he has some pretty nifty ideas as to who should don the khaki jumpsuit.

At the Toronto International Film Festival, he was asked for his thoughts on a female Ghostbusters movie. Via Mic:

“It sounds great to me. It sounds as good an idea as any other! There are a lot of women that could scare off any kind of vapor!” Murray told Access Hollywood. “No, it’s a grand idea, I don’t know who they’re talking about, but it’s a good idea, I would watch it! I mean, I love Robert Palmer’s videos, so why wouldn’t I love the female Ghostbusters?”

Robert Palmer videos? With all the pretty mannequin-esque ladies swiveling their hips around? Good one!

“Melissa [McCarthy] would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny — God, she’s funny!” Murray said. “I like this girl Linda Cardellini a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there.”

I recall seeing all of those names in that brainstorm session last month, so good work, people. I still vote Aisha Tyler.
