'Life Is Never Going to Get Any Better Than This For You': Season 2 of Girls

One of the first lines you hear in the new teaser trailer for Season 2 of Girls? “This is what happens when you break up with a sociopath.” Hannah, Jessa, Shoshanna and Marnie are back, with more drama, cringe-y moments and laughs. As far as we can tell, here’s what we will see in the next season of the show: Hannah hooks up with a bunch of guys and dances, Shoshanna shags Ray again, and Jessa spouts wise advise though her life is a mess. Here’s what we don’t see in this trailer: Any people of color. Surprise.

Just some facts about New York, from someone raised in New York, via Wikipedia:

The city’s population in 2010 was 44% white (33.3% non-Hispanic white), 25.5% black (23% non-Hispanic black), and 12.7% Asian… Hispanics of any race represented 28.6% of the population.

So, you know, since they’re minorities, maybe the four kids at the center of the show will eventually run into some Black, Latino or Asian people (who are not maids, nannies or homeless) this season?

Aside from that, the clip looks fun (for all our criticism of the show’s racial imbalance, we can still appreciate the entertainment factor — it’s good). Lena Dunham’s dance moves!
