Todd Akin Compares Claire McCaskill to a Dog in an Apparent Effort to Have His Senate Bid Please Be Over

Can’t-stop-won’t-stop Senate candidate Todd Akin said something awful about his opponent in the Missouri Senate race, Democratic incumbent Claire McCaskill, at a fundraising event in Springfield, MO. Now into the wee hours of what is looking more like an endurance dance marathon and less like a Senate bid, Akin told a group of faithful supporters that, if reelected, McCaskill would only seek out evil gubmint programs and dirty gubmint money not unlike the way a dog seeks out a Frisbee made of snausages:

She goes to Washington, D.C., it’s a little bit like one of those dogs, ‘fetch.’ She goes to Washington, D.C., and get all of these taxes and red tape and bureaucracy and executive orders and agencies and brings all of this stuff and dumps it on us in Missouri.

Yeah, that moment actually happened, and you can relive the recorded moment forever thanks to the magic of listening devices. To be fair, Akin sounds like he immediately realizes that he’s fucking up, and any truly accurate transcription should have “err, um, what the fuck is wrong with you Todd, stupid, stupid, stupid!” after the hastily spoken word “dog.” The carnivorous Martian who wears the Mike Huckabee suit was also in attendance, and, reportedly, was not super-thrilled that Project Akin was still making such terrible linguistic progress.
