UK Doctors Say Women Should Be Told Abortion Is Safer Than Childbirth

Britain’s Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists has issued guidelines saying women seeking abortions “should be advised that abortion is generally safer than continuing a pregnancy to term.” The guidelines also recommend telling them that most women who get abortions don’t suffer mental health problems. Anti-choice activists call this an “absurdly liberal agenda,” but given all the people trying to convince women that abortion will ruin their bodies and minds, it might be a necessary corrective.
