  • After Oscar de la Renta, Women’s Wear Daily‘s writer Bridget Foley, and members of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, including CFDA president Diane Von Furstenberg, publicly criticized Michelle Obama for wearing a dress by a British designer — Alexander McQueen — at the most recent state dinner, Cathy Horyn took to her blog to point out that many American designers, including Von Furstenberg herself, manufacture their clothes offshore anyway.
