When Gastric Bypass Leaves You Uncomfortable In Your Own Skin

Latest

As part of a True Life marathon this weekend, MTV aired I’m Uncomfortable With My New Body. In it, one woman deals with the aftermath of gastric bypass surgery: Excess skin and an identity crisis.

Kimberly is a 25-year-old mother of two who lost 123 lbs following her surgery last year. Even though she lost half her body weight, Kimberly is still hung up on not being skinny enough, constantly comparing herself to other women, and obsessing over the excess skin left on her stomach. In addition, ever since she took the weight off, she’s been going out to nightclubs alone to seek attention, which is, unsurprisingly, causing problems in her marriage.
