Avery Denton was a bit of a surprise for his mother, not only because he weighed 14 very painful pounds, but also because his mother, Maxxzandra Ford didn't realize she was pregnant until her third trimester.

Ford told Tampa NBC affiliate WFLA that she didn't think she was pregnant until she began to rapidly gain weight a few months ago.

Once she did find out though, she thought she might be having twins because she is a twin herself and the weight came on so fast. Her other two children were also big at birth, at 9 and 10 pounds, but Ford suspected that her third would be heavier. Avery was delivered naturally. "When I felt his head come out, I knew he was bigger than 10 pounds," Ford told WFLA. "I was cussing up a storm."

Here's a picture of the healthy, squishy-faced, baby giant Avery Denton. He is now the proud record holder of the largest baby born at St. Joseph's Women's Hospital in Tampa.
