Women with breast implants are three times as likely to die by their own hand and also have an increased risk of death as a result of drug use or alcoholism, according to the August issue of the medical journal Annals Of Plastic Surgery. Researchers in Maryland, Tennessee, and Sweden studied over 3,500 Swedish women with implants, following them from 1965 to 1993, and found that 10 years after implantation, suicide risk rose accordingly, with a risk "six times higher" than the expected suicide rate after 20 years.
