This month Rihanna has announced plans to collect all our paychecks with her new fashion line, is rumored to be getting her body ready for a mini-Ri, and is possibly doing something with playwriting polymath Jeremy O. Harris tomorrow. But what?
Harris tweeted a picture of himself and Rihanna sticking their tongues out with the caption “tomorrow.” Is it a play? Is it a song? Are they just going to hang out and live stream it because I’d watch that, and it would probably deserve an Emmy.
Harris is best known for his hit plays, Daddy, a “magical realism–inflected Bel Air drama about a young black artist and his older male sugar daddy” and starred Alan Cumming, as well as Slave Play, which the New York Times described as “willfully provocative, gaudily transgressive and altogether staggering.” Oh, and he did all this while in his third year at Yale School of Drama.
Whatever they’re planning tomorrow won’t be Harris’s first celebrity collaboration. He also toured with Florence and the Machine in his early twenties and was one of the writers of a film based on the Twitter thread by Zola we all lost our minds over a few years ago that will star Riley Keough, Taylour Paige, and Nicholas Braun.
