Victoria Arbiter says her whole bit about "Kate Middleton is brilliant for having a boy instead of a girl" was just a "Brit thing lost in translation".

This isn't a big deal. I thought Arbiter was making an offhand comment referencing a very well known recurring issue in British history. She was being tongue in cheek. This is a non-issue, especially in light of the UK's move towards changing the law of primogeniture. How can anyone take seriously the idea that a male is preferred, after the rule of Elizabeth I, Victoria, and Elizabeth II? Elizabeth I and Victoria are regarded to be two of the best monarchs in British history. People need to learn the context before criticizing a comment like this.
