New York Fashion week is upon us and last night at Lincoln Center, things kicked off with the 10th annual Style Awards. The outfits were sleek and chic and the night saw lots of black.
Joe Manganiello, aka the one with the abs on True Blood, wore a suit without a shirt; but instead of showing us his glorious Zeusian ripples there was a long scarf tied around his neck and hanging over his crotch. Pretty sure the way he’s pointing at designer John Varvatos means “this dude dressed me.”
These ladies dared to wear white (or, at least, pale colors) after labor day: model Chanel Iman in a column with sheer and cut-outs; tennis ace Maria Sharapova looking a little like a super sharp diner waitress; singer Ariana Grande in a pretty print Allison in Cry-Baby would adore.
Ex-Cheetah Girl Adrienne Bailon channeled old Hollywood bombshell in a siren red dress with retro hair. The cascading florals on model Anna Cleveland (daughter of legendary model Pat Cleveland) simply delighted designer Zac Posen. Actress Cara Santana sizzled in crimson as Jesse Metcalfe smoldered in gray.
Socialite/investor Julie Macklowe won awards for matching, having fun.
Christie Brinkley‘s silvery gray lace was nice and safe. Basketball player/fashion enthusiast Amar’e Stoudemire and wife Alexis Welch looked swellegant — digging her coppery draping and cool necklace. Model/DJ Atlanta de Cadenet did a super cool twist on a tuxedo.

Kate Upton is always billed as the sexiest sexy sexpot alive, but in this inky little dress she’s just plain adorable.
The best of the evening: Nicole Richie’s tough glam. Love the dangerous hair. You could slice meat on it.
