Tina Fey Is Developing a New Comedy Series for CBS

Latest

For Tina Fey fans who’ve been wishing for their queen to bring something fresh to network television, here’s some good news for this Saturday: CBS has picked up the pilot for a new Fey-produced comedy. The untitled series is about an athlete who drives his family and friends crazy after he suddenly retires.

Fey will be working with frequent collaborators, Robert Carlock and Jack Burditt, reports EW. Carlock was an executive producer on 30 Rock with Fey, as well as her co-creator on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Burditt worked on both shows and also created CBS’s Last Man Standing.

No word on who is being considered to play the lead or whether or not Fey will appear in the series herself. In the meantime, Sisters, Fey’s movie with Amy Poehler, will be out December 18, and the second season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will debut spring of next year.
