Things No One Wants: Another Pirates of the Caribbean Movie

Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, the fifth installment of a franchise that everyone stopped caring about years ago, will begin filming in Australia in February of 2015. The film is set for a 2017 release.

From The Hollywood Reporter:

Australian Attorney-General and Minister for the Arts, George Brandis, welcomed The Walt Disney Studios’ decision to film in Australia, after confirming the government had approved $18.9 million (AUS$21.6 million) in location-based incentives to the secure the shoot.
That $18.9 million is a one-off grant to the film, and is separate to other Queensland incentives the film will qualify for.

Just because you can make something, doesn’t mean you should make something, you know?

In similar WHY? news (also involving pirates), NBC has bought a new romantic comedy pilot based on the romance of Wendy Darling and Peter Pan.

¯_(ツ)_/¯
