Today we stumbled on this image from July of 1955. The caption reads:

An international beauty queen models the latest swimwear. This piece includes circles on which to strike matches to light your cigarette on the beach.

Wow. So when you said that chick is smokin’, you really meant that chick is smoking. A cigarette. She lit using a panel on her swimsuit.
