The star of There's Something About Miriam won't be promoting the show, which premieres on Fox Reality channel this Halloween, according to Page Six. That's because Miriam, left, is "living a very private life now." The show, which first aired in the UK 3 years ago, features six brawny, footballer-type blokes competing for the 21-year old Mexican stunner. They were filmed kissing, massaging and seducing Miriam for weeks before she revealed she was a pre-op transsexual. One contestant punched the producer, and all contestants sued. Sources say Miriam, who lives in New York, still has "her equipment" and was injured last spring when she was thrown out of a third-story window. Secrets can be dangerous! [Page Six]
@CatOTO: In order to qualify for the surgery to turn your outie into an innie, you have to undergo a long battery of psychological tests, physical tests, hormone therapy, etc. On top of that the surgery itself is very expensive, not consistent, and most insurance will not cover it. Breast augmentation, adam's apple scrapes, facial reconstruction etc are all easy compared to that last final step. They want to make sure you're ready, that you aren't just crazy or doing it for attention. The other surgeries are reversible or at least won't affect how you function as a person. Getting your ween imploded is pretty permanent. Lots of transgendered people wait for years before deciding to undergo that last surgery, it doesn't surprise me that she chose the same route.
I will say that I think the idea for this show is pretty retarded, and I think much less of her as a person for agreeing to it. I want to believe she had the best of intentions "I want to change the way people see transsexuals yay!" but come on. Even if she was the hottest thing since fission nobody wants a liar, and that's what it boils down to. She lied to these guys, AND underneath she's got a wang. This is a no-win situation. I feel pity overall for this poor girl.
