Nominees for the 21st Annual SAG Awards were announced Wednesday. While Modern Family and Birdman predictably have the most nominations, one surprise is that Jennifer Aniston earned a best actress nod for her role in Cake.

Aniston is in the running for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role, along with Reese Witherspoon (Wild), Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything), Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) and Julianne Moore (Still Alice).

As is preordained, Modern Family will compete for best comedy series ensemble and Julie Bowen is up for best actress.

Other surprises among the film nominees included nominations in the best actor and actress category for Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler) and Jennifer Aniston (Cake), neither of whom were frontrunners for nominations.

Surprisingly, Foxcatcher star Channing Tatum failed to land a nomination for his role as Mark Schultz.
