Adult film star Ron Jeremy and anti-porn minister Craig Gross are touring the country right now with their Porn Debate, in which the pair face off in large venues to debate the serious issues revolving around the porn industry, like whether it's degrading or empowering for women. The Porn Debate is the brainchild of Mr. Gross, who founded his ministry, XXX Church, in order to preach to the perverted and save those in the porn, making him a sort of Captain Save a Ho. He has a booth at the annual porno trade convention, AVN in Vegas with a large, stylish banner that says "Jesus Loves Porn Stars" and hands out copies of the New Testament with the same tagline printed on the cover. He also has a Christian makeup artist on hand to do free (porno style!) makeup on adult entertainers at the convention to "connect with the girls."
Mr. Gross' XXX Church exists under the umbrella company Fireproof Ministries, a Christian marketing firm which aims to bring a young, hip audience to Christianity. Mr. Gross has written several books on the subject, The Dirty Little Secret: Uncovering the Truth Behind Porn and Questions You Can't Ask Your Mama About Sex, which focuses on "your sexuality and the sexuality of others. Let's talk about what is and isn't okay to look at, do, and think about."
Seeing as how he's setting himself up to be the Christian 'authority' on porn, with appearances on CNN, Nightline, and Good Morning America, and the fact that he makes a living writing books and hosting speaking engagements like the Porn Debate, we're left wondering what the hell Mr. Gross is gonna do for cash if he ever accomplishes his goal of eliminating porn and saving all the hos. Oh, duh, he's filming a reality show! Or at least, according to the year-old bio you can download here!
