GLASGOW, SCOTLAND – MAY 24: Caitlin Cruckshanks from Lyon & Turnbull holds a still life by Scottish Colourist George Leslie Hunter called Still Life with Fruit and Anemones at Pollock House on May 24, 2010 in Glasgow, Scotland. The painting now valued at £30,000 is one of a group of four Hunters discovered and acquired by the familys father, a Glasgow auctioneer, in London in the late 1960’s. He was himself a talented artist and friend of the artist J D Fergusson, and bought the paintings before the importance of Scottish Colourists was well recognised. One painting from the group was gifted to the City of Glasgow in his memory following his death in 1969 and is held in the City’s Kelvingrove Collection. The ‘Anenomes’ painting is now being sold by his family following the death of his widow. (Photo by Jeff J Mitchell/Getty Images)
