The beauty industry in the UK is being accused of ignoring black and Asian women, reports The Independent. The market for minority makeup, skin and hair care is 2% of the £3.7 billion British beauty industry, despite the fact that ethnic minorities are 7.9% of the population. Plus, minorities are underrepresented in the "visual industries" of beauty, fashion and advertising. "Non-white people make up more than 20% of the population in London, yet only 1 per cent of the models."
