The 10-Year-Old French Model's Mother Responds To The Controversy Over Her Daughter's Pictures

Latest

The mother of Thylane Loubry Blondeau, the 10-year-old fashion model whose depiction in fashion spreads has raised concerns about the sexualization of young models, has spoken publicly about the controversy. Veronika Loubry blames a “bad personn in usa [sic]” for drawing attention to her daughter.

Writing on her daughter’s official Facebook fan page (yes, she had one), someone claiming to be Loubry, an entertainment reporter-turned-fashion designer, explained that she would be shutting down the page until the “buzz” dies down:

hey guys im the mum of thylane something going ‘s wrong at the moment with thylane and bad personn in usa about pictures she make’s 8 months ago for vogue ,,thylane doesn’t know about the buzz and i want to protect her from the deapest of my heart ,,, she’s so young ,, so we are going to close this accompte for a while ,,i know all of you are good person who like her so i send you a big kiss,,thanks

[sic] for all of the above, obviously.

The Tumblr that drew attention to Thylane’s many appearances in magazines like Vogue Paris, Vogue Enfants, and various fashion ads has also been shut down.
