Survivor of XXXTentacion's Alleged Abuse Has Raised Over $6,000 on GoFundMe Since His Death

The GoFundMe page set up by Geneva Ayala to cover the cost of medical bills for injuries allegedly inflicted by XXXTentacion has received a flood of donations since news of the rapper’s death broke Monday. As of press time, the page had raised $6,000 in less than 24 hours.

Under a picture of a bloody and blackened eye, and medical documents pertaining to it, Ayala wrote:

there’s two fractures in my left eye socket due to an aggressive hit, along with nose and jaw fractures. since these bones are fractured they’re piercing into the back of my eyeball causing damage to an optical nerve and my eye itself. the left side of my face has lost some sensation, i cannot feel my upper lip on the left side, and same for my upper teeth on the left side. and as for my left eye’s vision, it’s diminishing as the days go by. it’s crucial i get the surgery otherwise my eyeball will die and the nerve connecting my lip/cheek and teeth will eventually die as well. i’d appreciate anything, this is a very strenuous obstacle that has been put into my hands. also could use money towards my living situation and food. thank you.

In her deposition for the case against XXXTentacion—her ex-boyfriend, whose real name was Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy—Ayala described the abuse that inflicted the injuries, among several nauseating instances of violence and terror. Per Pitchfork, the first outlet to publish details of her deposition:

He then started elbowing, head-butting, and punching her. He strangled her until she almost passed out. He took her to the bathroom and demanded one last time that she tell him everything or he would kill her in the bathtub. She couldn’t even recognize her face in the mirror—it looked “distorted”—and her left eye was completely shut and “leaking blood.” She was losing vision. She vomited.

Onfroy was charged with aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, and witness-tampering. He pleaded not guilty and denied the allegations in several interviews.

You can’t argue with her pictures or medical records, but her account of repeated abuse will remain an open question to many. In a recent piece featuring interviews of Onfroy and Ayala, the Miami New Times reported that Ayala’s GoFundMe had been wiped from the site soon after she set it up, as a result of Onfroy’s fans reporting that she misrepresented her injuries. When it was reinstated earlier this month after Miami New Times’s piece ran, it reportedly raised $12,000 in one day.

The New Times piece detailed the harassment and hardship Ayala says she faced after coming forward with her allegations. She received calls from Onfroy’s family and friends telling her to drop the charges. Her Twitter account was hacked. Her Instagram account was deleted as a result of users’ reports. Fans showed up at her job at Dunkin’ Donuts, which she quit. Many of her friends, she said, dropped her.

At press time, her GoFundMe page was about $6,500 over its goal of $25,000. GoFundMe does not place a cap on donations, and Ayala will be eligible to receive them as long as her page is up. Again, here is the link.
