Here's a deep question for everyone. I'm in the middle of reading this amazing (and very sexually explicit) series by Richelle Mead, the first one in the series being Succubus Blues. Anyway, in the series, she talks a lot about the protagonists' "connection", and from the very first touch, they felt this otherworldly connection, blah blah. And of course, they're soulmates and such.

Do you believe in soulmates? I don't think I do. I believe that there are a number of people that you can be with, and be married to, and be happywith your whole life. But a small, teeny part of me wonders if there really is a such thing as a soulmate, and that it's not a mutated idea bastardized by the film industry. And is chasing after this soulmate idea a recipe for unhappiness? Emptiness? What do you do with said soulmate? What makes this pairing better than other pairings?

Any thoughts?
