Stevie Nicks Is a Mega Nerd Who Writes Game of Thrones Poetry

Latest

Today in celebrity news that makes PERFECT SENSE, talented sing-witch Stevie Nicks told Vanity Fair that she’s spent the last five months holed up in the enchanted hollowed-out tree that she calls a home, writing fan poems about Game of Thrones.

“Madeleine,” you’re probably saying. “Shouldn’t this gift of magical information wait for Christmas or some other special occasion? Why tell me the best thing I’ve ever heard on a random Thursday?”

I’m sorry. I just couldn’t keep it in.

Nicks tells the magazine that it’s been a rough year — her mother passed away and then she fell ill herself, leaving her housebound for a very long time. Luckily, she had GoT to distract and inspire her:

“I worked on the edit of my documentary about the making of In Your Dreams. And then I got pneumonia. With my pneumonia and my mother’s death I watched the entire first season of Game Of Thrones—so that was great! That certainly took my mind off everything.”

She adds:

“I’ve written a bunch of poetry about it—one for each of the characters. On Jon Snow. . . On Arya. . . On Cersei and Jaime.”

Unfortunately, none of these poems have been published because this world — just like Westeros — is a cruel and unfair place. Here’s one comfort: Nicks would like to write some music for the show, but to hell with it, I say. Just add her to the Game of Thrones cast. You could have her replace Melisandre the Fire Priestess and no one would even notice because they’re already practically the exact same person.

On a final note — and maybe I’m burying the lede here — Stevie Nicks and Prince used to date. (Whisper “Stevie Nicks and Prince used to date” five times into a bowl of water and all of your clothes will magically turn to leather and lace.)

From Vanity Fair:

“I was totally a drug addict and Prince is the other side of drug addict—Prince is straight as an arrow.” She adds, “He would bring me cough medicine when I was sick and then I’d ask for another spoon of it, and he’d go, ‘I didn’t come here to start you on a new drug!’”

Man, I bet they shared so many capes.
