Steve Harvey Screws Up, Announces Wrong Winner at Miss Universe Pageant

Latest

Steve Harvey made an unbelievably horrible and embarrassing mistake during the most pivotal moment of Sunday evening’s Miss Universe 2015 pageant, which aired on Fox. Harvey, the night’s host, announced Miss Colombia as the winner and Miss Philippines as the runner-up. He was wrong. It was actually the other way around, with Miss Philippines as the winner. Ariadna Gutierrez, Miss Colombia, had already been crowned and taken her place at the front of the stage when Harvey came up to make an announcement. “I have to apologize,” he said. “The first runner-up is Colombia. Miss Universe 2015 is Philippines!”

Confused and shocked, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, a.k.a. Miss Philippines, makes her way to front of the crowd. 2014 Miss Universe winner Paulina Vega, a fellow Colombian, comes to break the bad news to Gutierrez while Harvey continues to apologize.“Listen folks, let me take control of this,” he says. “This is exactly what’s on the card. I will take responsibility for this. It was my mistake. The first runner-up is Colombia. Still a great night. Please don’t hold it against the ladies.”

Vega removes the crown from Gutierrez, then places it on Wurtzbach’s head. IT’S CRUSHING TO WATCH!

Harvey also apologized through a terribly misspelled, now-deleted tweet.
