Sophia Grace Sells Out, Signs on for Into the Woods

Joining a club of social climbers so elite that it only includes Jays Gatsby and Z, Sophia Grace Brownlee — of YouTube, Ellen and Miss Minchin’s Seminary for Girls — has officially made the jump from adorable, viral rapping gimmick to star of the silver screen. The 10-year-old Essex native has been cast as Little Red Riding Hood in the big screen adaptation of Into the Woods where she’ll be playing opposite Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp and Anna Kendrick.

To quote philospher/Degrassi: TNG star Drake, “Started from the bottom now we here.” Only in this case, we refers solely to Sophia Grace because the young actress has failed to bring her pint-sized, formerly silent hype girl Rosie with her into the movie biz. What becomes of Rosie remains to be seen, but the pair were allegedly overheard in a heated, pixie stick-fueled argument at the Chateau Marmont, with Rosie accusing Sophia Grace of selling out and Sophia Grace responding, “I made you, mother fucker. If it wasn’t for me, you’d be back home sweeping chimneys, ya urchin ass bitch.”

Careful, Sophia Grace. You step on a lot of people when you climb to the top.
