A woman attends on May 29, 2009 in Saint-Nikolai church in the southeastern town of Yambol a memorial service for the victims of a May 28 bus crash that killed 16 people and injured more than 20. The bus slammed into a crowd of pilgrims hiking up a Bulgarian mountain road to attend a traditional Ascension day feast on a moutain peak near Yambol, some 320 kms (200 miles) from Sofia. The accident occurred when the brakes of the bus going downhill failed and it rammed into the crowd of people before overturning at the side of the narrow mountain road.
