Silda Is Probs Going to Divorce Eliot Spitzer After the Election

Latest

The spurned wife of former New York governor Eliot Spitzer, whose antics with prostitutes have been somewhat overshadowed by Anthony Weiner’s penis this week, is reportedly fed up with it all, reports Page Six. The New York Post says that come November 6, we should all be on the lookout for some filed divorce papers, filed by one Silda Spitzer.

On Thursday, Spitzer shot down speculation that his wife should be at his side and said that just he is running for office, noting that “no other member of my family is running for office.” He added that his wife has “got a career” of her own. But according to the Post, that is all just TALK:

Multiple sources tell us long-suffering Silda — who, he last night admitted, will not be joining him on the campaign trail — “has had enough” and plans to start divorce proceedings after his run for New York City comptroller is over.
One source tells us, “Silda is telling her female friends that she is done with him. She will file for divorce after the [Nov. 5] election.”
A second source told The Post’s Sally Goldenberg, “Silda is saying she is going to wait until this is all over. She has been telling friends, ‘This is too hard. This is too rough.’ ”

Divorce rumors have plagued the couple for months, so none of this is new. That being said, the Daily News notes that one of Spitzer’s recent hires is Miriam Hess, who was Silda’s senior advisor and schedule manager when Spitzer ran for governor in 2006. Silda also collected a few signatures recently to get Spitzer on the ballot for comptroller.

Spitzer’s spokeswoman said that the former Governor “will not comment on the absurd barrage of stories about his personal life.” Well, it’s going to be a long slog until November/through being comptroller, if he wins/the rest of his goddamn life.
