The video for Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings new single "100 Days, 100 Nights" was just released and it has an authentic, vintage soul look to it that's paired perfectly with the group's sound. It's really difficult to tell that this was made in 2007. Apparently the director used old television cameras to film it that he bought on eBay for $50 each. If you're not familiar with the band, but you recognize their sound, it's because the Dap Kings were handpicked by Mark Ronson to be Amy Winehouse's session musicians and later her backup band for her U.S. tour earlier this year.
On a similar note if you like Sharon, check out Bettye Lavette. She played at Wolftrap last night. AMAZING!! 61 years old in stiletto heels, singing and dancing like no one's business. She's PERFORMING for 46 years and receiving no love!! So before u buy/download the new Britney Spears Monstrosity, please check out an artist who is actually touring/performing to support her current release.
