Secret Service Fires Three More Agents as Obama Calls Them 'Knuckleheads'

The Secret Service announced tonight that it has fired three more of the agents involved in the now infamous prostitution scandal. Two of the agents are technically resigning, but a third is appealing his removal—boy, that takes some serious bravado. Two other agents have been cleared of wrongdoing, but will nevertheless face some kind of "administrative action." Nine agents have now been taken out of service, and tonight's actions mean all 12 agents involved in the scandal have been dealt with. Though Rep. Peter King, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, says the investigation will continue.

Meanwhile, while taping an episode Late Night with Jimmy Fallon that will air tonight, President Obama talked to Jimmy about the scandal, saying,

The Secret Service, these guys are incredible. They protect me, they protect our girls. A couple of knuckleheads shouldn't detract from that they do. What they were thinking, I don't know. That's why they're not there anymore.

It's kind of amazing how Obama can make a gentle rib like "knucklehead" sound like the ultimate diss. While there's clearly a more systemic problem in the agency that needs to be dealt with, it's certainly smart of him not to issue a blanket condemnation of the whole lot—seeing as they're the ones who are standing between him and hundreds (if not thousands) of nutjobs and terrorists who'd love nothing more than to bring his administration down in a far more violent and awful way than by causing a prostitution scandal.

I love Obama's gentle disses. There's just something so "sigh...idiots" about them. He's nerdy in the best possible way.

Meanwhile, the agent who's appealing his dismissal? Sorry buddy, I don't think that's going to turn out too well for you.
