A somber rerun of Oprah aired today focusing on teenagers who accidentally kill people. I was only half paying attention until a segment came on about a deadly new trend called the "choking game," in which kids essentially asphyxiate each other in order experience cheap highs. The thing is, this isn't new at all: I used to play this game with my friends when I was about 11 and had no idea at the time that other kids around the country were doing it. (As far as I knew, Anthony Faila who lived down the street invented it.) Anyway, I think it's safe to say that of all the idiotic things I did as a kid, not breathing was definitely the dumbest of them all.
