Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-changes, you guys. They are difficult and unwieldy. Sometimes your burden is much lighter when they happen, but sometimes it's not, so let's talk about it. Also, if you're interested, a Buffy: The Vampire Slayer marathon is on LOGO, showcasing Joss Whedon's favorite episodes. I didn't even put jeans on today, because that's how invested I am.
What were your favorite books in middle school, and/or books you think a middle school-er would love?
My best friend's boyfriend will be teaching middle school next year, and we've been trying to help him compile a classroom library. I remember a lot of books I liked around that age, but am having a harder time determining what is actually appropriate. Is Harriet the Spy for younger kids? I also bought my cousin A Tree Grows in Brooklyn when she was in the sixth grade, and my aunt flipped out and said it was inappropriate. I read it in fifth grade and loved it, but perhaps I'm forgetting something that would make it controversial. So I might not be the best judge of grade levels when it comes to literature.
