Saturday Night Social: That Time Dan Harmon Got Fired And A Squirrel Got Drunk

Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-changes, you guys. They are difficult and unwieldy. Sometimes your burden is much lighter when they happen, but sometimes it's not, so let's talk about it. What were your favorite books in middle school, and/or books you think a middle school-er would love?

My best friend's boyfriend will be teaching middle school next year, and we've been trying to help him compile a classroom library. I remember a lot of books I liked around that age, but am having a harder time determining what is actually appropriate. Is Harriet the Spy for younger kids? I also bought my cousin A Tree Grows in Brooklyn when she was in the sixth grade, and my aunt flipped out and said it was inappropriate. I read it in fifth grade and loved it, but perhaps I'm forgetting something that would make it controversial. So I might not be the best judge of grade levels when it comes to literature.
