Sarah Jessica Parker, Oprah, New BFFs

Illustration for article titled Sarah Jessica Parker, Oprah, New BFFs

Forget those rumors about Oprah and Gayle King — we're beginning to suspect that there's something going on between Oprah and Sarah Jessica Parker. First SJP gave Oprah the exclusive (well on TV) of her (boring! cheap!) Bitten apparel line, and now Oprah has anointed Parker guest editor of the July issue of O: The Oprah Magazine. The magazine is setting aside eight pages for SJP to style (here it comes!) "real women...of all ages and sizes" in her cheapster wares. We're sure they'll look nothing short of giggly and girlish, though we're curious as to whether SJP will be borrowing the trick utilized in her June Glamour shoot in which her plain-Jane designs are hidden by the occasional Burberry dress and Louboutin pump. You know, all the usual things that "real women..of all ages and sizes" have at their disposal when they dress themselves in the morning!

I don't know, I think high and low mix & match is the way to go. I don't spend more than $20 on basics like tees, tanks, jeans, and undergarments. But I splurge on really nice shoes and jewelry, and blazers and jackets. I love wearing my $200 sequined pumps with my $15 Old Navy Jeans (on sale, amen) and some diamond earrings.

I can't afford to add any Burberry to the mix, but I would if I could, and I'd pair it with a 3/$8 wifebeater from Costco.

I admire SPJ for what she's doing, and I don't get the shit she's been given. Let me tell you, I doubt her $15 jeans are any worse than the Old Navy $15 jeans, and if you don't like it, you don't have to buy it.
