Sandra Fluke—the Georgetown law student Rush Limbaugh called a "slut" and a "prostitute" because she believes that birth control is a health issue, and not a moral one—sat down for her first televised interview today on The View. Limbaugh later issued a public apology statement. Fluke said that she doesn't think he's really sorry, since his statement came only after several sponsors began pulling support from his show. When asked if she would've preferred hearing from him personally, instead of through a written statement Fluke said, "Let me be clear: I think his statements that he made on the air about me have been personal enough, so I'd rather not have a personal phone call from him."
I just came from a restaurant where these two old white dudes were sitting at the table next to mine and one chuckled and said to his friend, "Rush Limbaugh says you can lead a horse to water but you can't lead a whore to culture."
We were the only three people in the restaurant so it was really difficult to pretend I didn't hear him.
The same charming gentleman told his friend that he had learned after 40-something years of marriage to two different women that you can't change women.
Because his experiences with two women represent the billions of others of us out there.
Apparently, you can't change sexist, narrow-minded men either, which explains this fellow's situation completely.
