We have covered the Brazilian Blowout controversy before, and the scariness continues; as far as we can tell, the popular hair treatment will lead you straight to your deathbed. Or, at the very least, it will get you a little closer. Is this surprising to anyone who knows what a Brazilian Blowout is? You'd think not, considering that the hair treatment has already been banned in several countries and is well known to contain high levels of formaldehyde, which, when poorly ventilated, is proven to cause health risks as serious as cancer. That doesn't mean that people will stop getting them though, no matter how much information or scare-segments are released. The fact of the matter is that people have always risked their health for their appearance, whether it be by using lead makeup, eating tapeworms to stay thin (say what you will, but it sure is easy!) or injecting chemicals into their faces to erase wrinkles. Unfortunately, a warning label or concerned look from Laura Spencer will do nothing to dissuade us. We're big girls (and boys)— the choice to slowly choke the life out of ourselves is entirely up to us.
Speaking of, does anyone want to rub gasoline into their eyes? I hear it's a great way to make them shiny and iridescent.
