This whole "calling Sandra Fluke a slut" business isn't panning out well for Rush Limbaugh, The Man Who Never Shuts Up. After referring to the advocate of the birth control mandate as a "slut" and a "prostitute" and then doubling down on his claims with even more assy gurgling, he's beginning to shed advertisers who don't want to be associated with his brand of dickery.
The first company to pull ads from Rush's radio show is Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Last night, the company Twitter account began informing its followers that it was in the process of removing its ads from the shock jock's program, ultimately Tweeting this morning, "We don't condone negative comments directed toward any group. In response, we are currently pulling our ads from Rush with Rush Limbaugh."
Today, Sleep Number announced that it will also be ending its relationship with the program, sending Rush Limbaugh's approval ratings among mattresses plummeting to unprecedented levels.
ProFlowers and eharmony, two other advertisers, have indicated that they don't endorse Limbaugh's views and may be pulling ads as well.
I wish I could say I feel pity for Rush, but that publicity whore wouldn't be in so much trouble now if he'd just learn to keep his mouth closed. Why, back in my day, the fellas who couldn't shut up learned to keep their traps quiet by holding aspirin in their teeth.
