A team of investigators from Columbia University's journalism school will soon release their review into Rolling Stone's controversial and highly flawed story about an alleged gang rape at the University of Virginia. Separately, police in Charlottesville, Virginia are expected to announce the results of their own investigation into the rape allegations today at 2 p.m.

Columbia Journalism School's dean Steve Coll announced in December that he would be leading a review into the story, focusing mainly on the editorial decisions made by Rolling Stone and the piece's author Sabrina Rubin Erdely. CNN was first to report that the results of Columbia's investigation will be published in Rolling Stone's print edition and online in April. RS managing editor Will Dana told the New York Times on Sunday that the plan is to publish the report "in the next couple weeks."

In a brief statement, Charlottesville police said they'll announce the results of their own investigation at a press conference today, adding that they won't answer questions prior to the event.

So Columbia University, the school that had a student have to resort to carrying her mattress around to get people to listen to her rape story, is investigating another school's rape and sexual assault response?
