In the late '90s, Marc Jacobs' star was rising quickly, and LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault decided to take a take a chance on "fashion's bad boy" and hire him as creative director for Louis Vuitton. In this 1998 interview with Charlie Rose, a then 34-year-old Jacobs shares his excitement and anxiety over designing the first ever ready-to-wear collection for Louis Vuitton. It's clear from listening to him talk about it that he was kind of freaking out about such a large undertaking, but 10 years later, he still has the job, and LVMH seems to be pleased as punch with his work.
