Republican Senator Says Gay Pals Disagree With Supreme Court Ruling

Latest

Republican Senator James Inhofe says that his gay friends, like him, are displeased with the Supreme Court’s recent ruling that lifted bans on same-sex marriages. “I’ve been disappointed, and I was not surprised. I thought they would rule the way they did. I know a lot of people, actually a lot of people who are friends of mine in the gay community, who also think it was a bad decision,” Inhofe told KOTV in Oklahoma on Friday, Buzzfeed reports.

Inhofe, who co-authored a bill in 2012 forbidding same-sex marriage ceremonies on military bases, released the following statement on his website :

“I am disappointed by today’s Supreme Court decision. My position on this issue is clear and has not changed. It is unfortunate that the Court took it upon itself to decide for the people what was being appropriately debated and decided in the states through the democratic process.”

Who are these gay friends of Inhofe that are opposed to having equal marriage rights as everyone else? I’m guessing they are imaginary.
