Remember When Stephen Colbert Reported for GMA Back in 1997?

Earlier today, the hosts of Good Morning America had the pleasure of sharing their news desk with Stephen Colbert who was out promoting his new book America Again: Rebecoming the Greatness We Never Werent. Colbert handled himself with his usual wit and confidence, though that might have been because he’s been around the GMA block before. Turns out, back in 1997, our friend Stephen reported for GMA during a segment for the Rube Goldberg Machine Contest at Purdue University. While he’s definitely seen trying to be professional, you can tell that his sense of humor was already leading him in much more wicked direction. “And laughter turns to tears.”
