Reckless Driver Speeds Around School Bus, Forced to Hold Idiot Sign on Corner

You know how when you’re late for something and there’s a school bus unloading children in your way, you sometimes just have to be all, “Fuck it, I’m just gonna drive on the sidewalk from now on! Problem solved!”? No? Well, Sheena Hardin of Cleveland does. In fact, she was caught on camera bobbing and weaving and now she’s paying the price.

Last week, Hardin pleaded no contest to charges of not stopping for a school bus and reckless operation on a street or highway. Justice-seeking Judge Pinkey S. Carr (better name? or best name?) sentenced her to stand at the scene of the crime holding a sign that reads: “Only an idiot would drive around a school bus.” The sign had to be worn two days in a row for an hour, and it had to be written on 22 x 22 white poster board with the text written in black marker in ALL CAPS.

Apparently on Tuesday, the first day of her punishment, the public was unhappy that she was wearing sunglasses, smoking, and playing on her phone the entire time, and so for the second day, the Judge Pinkey S. Carr (OK, best name, one hundred percent) came along to make sure she looked sufficiently contrite.

I’m not usually down with judges doing this sort of thing but when you’re driving like Wario on Super Mario Kart around a bus full of little ones, maybe you need some street justice. Literally. I mean, maybe she was avoiding green shells, but real human lives are at stake.
