This right here is spot-on, and why I tell my kids (and anyone else who will listen) that you're not actually sleeping with the person you're sleeping with for the first four months of your relationship. You're sleeping with your vision of who that person is and what it says about you. Sometimes it turns out the other person doesn't have much to offer beyond that.
