Rachel Zoe And Rodger Fake It For The Cameras

On last nights episode of The Rachel Zoe Project, Rachel’s husband Rodger gave her a custom-made Rachel Zoe Barbie for their 12th wedding anniversary. Or so it seemed. It turns out that she Tweeted about styling Barbie herself last year.

Rachel seemed surprised about Rodger’s thoughtful gift—which he gave to her in February 2010—and the detail that went into it. I thought it was weird that when the camera showed the contents of the box it clearly was omitting a second Barbie. But it turns out that back in December 2009, Rachel had Tweeted about two Barbies that she styled that were eventually auctioned off for charity.

Apparently, a success, Rachel was commissioned to style two more Barbies to auction off for the same charity. These were the Barbies in the box that Rodger gave her. It’s not really surprising when a reality show has some staged elements, but it’s definitely puzzling in this instance.
